The Structural Health Monitoring system was established to the pilot school buildings in Çanakkale and İzmir provinces within the EReS (Earthquake Resilient Schools) project coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Abdullah Can Zülfikar under the EC-UCPM program.
The Earthquake Resilient Schools (EReS) project, funded by the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM), focuses on earthquake risk reduction in the Greece-Turkey border area by addressing common challenges. Building on the REDACt project, it uses the Rapid Earthquake Damage Assessment platform, components of the REDACt Education Hub and low-cost accelerometers. EReS aims to enhance cross-border cooperation in earthquake hazard assessment and risk reduction by promoting information exchange between key institutions and implementing targeted activities in high seismicity regions of the area.
