TÜBİTAK – NSFC (China) Joint Research Project
Call for Applicants
Assoc.Prof.Zeynep Deger is seeking MSc and PhD researchers for the TUBITAK-NSFC Project titled "Research on key technologies for rapid damage assessment and efficient repair and reinforcement of buildings in strong earthquake area". The project aims to develop rapid building damage assessment techniques and introduce an innovative multi-level external retrofitting technology for damaged structures. Additionally, it seeks to establish a comprehensive numerical simulation approach for retrofitting and to refine optimization design principles for reinforcement schemes.

The applicant is expected to be enthusiastic about seismic damage assessment, machine learning, seismic retrofitting, and performance-based design.

The applicant should not be employed by any institution or organization. Full-time dedication to the project is required. The project duration is approximately 2.5 years.

Fluent English is mandatory – international meetings will be held.

Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python) is required.

The applicants are expected to publish their thesis based on a research problem related to the project goals.
