Our faculty member, Prof. Ercan Yüksel, in collaboration with his colleagues, authored this study, which was published in the Bulletin of Earthquake Engineering. The study proposes an innovative moment-resisting beam-to-column connection for precast RC structures using fuse-type mechanical couplers (FTMCs) with energy dissipation capability.
Experimental and numerical analyses confirmed that the proposed connection withstands a 4% drift ratio without significant beam damage. Additionally, a pivot model accurately predicted its force–displacement behavior.
This research contributes to seismic-resistant precast RC structures, improving connection reliability and energy dissipation capacity.
